Educación Plus works in the urban shanty towns of Costa Rica, Central America, to stop children and young people dropping out of school, and to prevent them becoming street children.
To achieve this, the team make regular visits to each sponsored family and provide school uniforms and equipment for the children to enable them to attend schools. The Christian teaching at the weekly bible clubs and the sports activities help to open their minds, widen their horizons and inject some hope.
The annual camps are the highlight of the year for the 250 or so who attend them, and the Christmas parties for over 500 children are often the only healthy celebration of the season that they can enjoy. All these things are designed to help the children reject the label “poor” and grow into;
“People Ready to Change The World”.
